Aircraft I have flown.

This is a gallery of the planes I have flown, from my training through to my RV7A over the last 20 years. Some of these aircraft are still with their original owners and others are not using the registration that was attached to them, perhaps VH-SMY finally succumbed to it's poor maintenance. I used these aircraft to build my pilot skills on cross country excursions, as well as completing higher endorsements for flying retractable undercarriage and constant speed propellors. They all had a milestone leading to the constrution of our RV7A.

This was my training aircraft at Shine Aviation in Geraldton WA, where I did my initial training. Originally in green paint, I flew her until I had completed my first solo.
VH-JRC Cessna 172P
VH-LCS was brand new to Shine Aviation when I transitioned to her from VH-JRC. I completed my navigation training in this aircraft. Being new, with leather upholstery, she was a pure joy to fly.

I hired VH-SMY in Geraldton to fly out and visit a friend in Sandstone. She was a bit unloved and could only manage 90 knots.

I completed my retractable and constant speed propellor endorsement in this aircraft with Minovation flying school in Jandakot. I subsequently hired this aircraft for several days at a time and took her to Jurien Bay.

Another of Minovations aircraft I hired to keep my flying hours up. Again, flown to Jurien Bay for local flights.

VH-PXH, also owned by Minovation, was the 180Hp version of ELD. I took this aircraft to Jurien Bay and then flew to Kalbarri and Woolleen Station. Sight seeing and cross country trave in this type of aircraft is excellent. Cruise speed of 130 knots is much better than the Cessna's I hired at 90-100 knots.

Muttley, VH-MTU, was owned by Polar Aviation in Port Hedland. She was hired to fly locally and also with the Karratha Aeroclub activities.

Another one of Muttley at Roebourne Airport. I flew down there for a fly-in and took one of our other teacher friends for the day.

Another one of Muttley at Coral Bay. I drove down there for a fly-in and swapped into Muttley to take her home to Port Hedland. This was another Karratha Aeroclub trip. I last saw VH-MTU on the ground in Albany WA and was told that a local was the owner.

This was another Karratha Aeroclub trip, this tiem to Millstream, landing in the Millstream National Park, not far from the homestead and swimminghole.

VH-JUE belonged to Rainbow Coast Aviation and I flew in her once to complete a Biannual Flight Review.

VH-POC at Roebourne Airport. This was the first time I'd seen let alone flown a Vans RV and was the impetus for us to build our own.

VH-POC at Coral Bay Airport. On a Karratha Aeroclub trip. POC was the fastest in the fleet. She departed Coral Bay for Roebourne about 20 minutes after everyone else had departed. She took a scenic flight to Onslow, then landed in Roebourne before any of other aircraft at Coral Bay had reached Karratha.
